WELCOME TO BRANSTON HISTORY GROUP
Branston is a delightful village situated on the B1188 road some four miles south east of Lincoln. In the Doomsday Book of 1086 the recorded population was 390. today the figure is approximately 4,500.
Branston History Group was formed in 1996 for the purpose of collating memories and photographs in respect of the recent history of the village and its people. Personal accounts of village life and documents have been gathered from individuals and organisations, thereby ensuring there is a permanent record of people, places and events available for the benefit of present and future generations. In recent years the group have also undertaken a number of projects to add to the ambience of the village, details of these can be found on the PROJECTS PAGE.
Public meetings are held in the Church Hall at 7.30pm on the third Tuesday of every month except the months of July, August and January. Each month a visiting speaker is invited to give a talk on a matter that has historical connections to the village. The date of a meeting may be changed only if found to be an absolute necessity. Details of our meetings can be found on the MEETINGS PAGE.
