As we welcome in 2010, always keep a check on what your local Lions group is doing via this our website and lets make 2010 as successful as any previous year!

Although we are part of the World’s largest and most active service club organisation, it is our ultimate aim to distribute monies raised to the benefit of our local community. A small amount is donated to International projects, usually when International disasters occur.

 
We cover all costs from our own dues, ensuring any donation goes to the worthwhile causes that we are approached for. This could be another smaller local charity operated group needing that bit extra or an individual embarking upon a charitable event. It is hard to define exactly our remit, so basis the proverb, ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained’, just ask?

Sometimes it’s more time rather than raising just money - see our activities for the public events we do, but being a volunteer we are committed to our cause and this is why we are Lions.

Simple safety advice you may want to heed;

Its been suggested by the Ambulance Service that as we all carry mobile phones nowadays, that like SOS we should put Our Next of Kin details under the contact name ICE - In Case of Emergency. An accident can happen to anyone, no one knows when they could be incapacitated, thus rescuers i.e. Police/Paramedics can look in your phone's contact details for the ICE contact and know who to contact.

Lions can be a busy hobby, but good fun but isn’t too onerous! We are always open for new members looking to join?
