Access Statement

Introduction

Cogglesford Watermill (“the mill”) is located within Sleaford and approximately 1 mile from Sleaford train station. The mill dates back to Saxon times, is thought to be the only Sherriff’s watermill still in operation in England.

You can watch the Mill in operation on special event days, producing organic wholemeal flour as it would have been 200 years ago. Video footage of the milling process can be seen when the Mill is not in operation. Discover the fascinating characters and events that shaped its history from its Anglo Saxon origins to the present day.

The mill has a number of events that take place throughout the year and is also the local tourist information point including a gift shop. Group and educational visits are also available if made by prior arrangement with the mill by calling 01529 413671 or 01529 308102.

The centre is accessible to wheel chair users with level access across the site excluding the first & second floor. Please be aware there is a step immediately inside the front door, however access can be arranged via the back door. Please speak to the miller on duty.
