General Information

Type of water: Inland Reservoir.
Area of water: 218 acres (with about 10% as a "no go" Bird Sanctuary).
Maximum Depth of water: 15 metres.
Minimum Depth of water: about 5 meters.
Facilities: Hot Showers, Slipway, Repair facilities, Club House, Bar, Kitchen, Disabled access including Crane / Hoist.

The Reservoir is open to members throughout the year.
The access gates to the Reservoir/Sailing Centre & Club House are usually open during Sailing Club sessions, however for security reasons the gates to the centre are locked outside of club sessions.
Keys are available to members upon joining.

The centre has ample parking, with changing rooms and hot showers. There is also a bar, which is usually open around sailing sessions. Boat launching is from the slipway and there are currently four jetties for mooring.

Boat / Categories permitted to launch: All one design sailing dinghies, catamarans and all types & makes of windsurfers.
Categories not permitted to launch: Powerboats other than the rescue boats, during sailing sessions and craft over 16 feet.

Boats currently being sailed are: RS200, RS400, RS Vareo, Albacore, OK, Laser, Laser Radial, Sunfish, Streaker,Topaz. A number of other assorted craft grace the dinghy park along with a small number of Cats.

Sailing Water Times

Summer Time
Mon-Fri Dawn until 16:00 - shared water with Covenham Water Ski Club.
Wed 16:00 to dark - Club Sailing, Youth & Adults Training.
Thu 16:00 to dark - Club Racing & General Leisure sailing.
Sat Dawn to Dusk - Youth & Adults Training and Sailability (on alternative Saturdays) - shared water with Covenham Water Ski Club.
Sun 13:00 to 18:00  - Club Racing & General Leisure sailing.

Winter Time 30th Oct to 31st Mar
Sunday 11:00 to 14:00 - Club Racing & General Leisure sailing.

Handicap racing is held on Thursday evenings and Sundays when people of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join the fun. Those not wishing to race can cruise for pleasure during these times.

Training

Youth dinghy sailing and windsurfing are taking place together on Wednesday evenings in 2010.
