U3A stands for the University of the Third Age, which is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment, providing educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment. It consists of local U3As all over the UK, which are charities in their own right and are run entirely by volunteers. Local U3As are learning cooperatives which draw upon the knowledge, experience and skills of their own members to organise and provide interest groups in accordance with the wishes of the membership.
The Lindsey U3A meets on the 1st Thursday of the month in the Welton Village Hall at 10am to give you time to enjoy a cup of coffee/tea and a biscuit before the meeting starts. During this time members have the opportunity to visit the various groups' tables to discuss and perhaps enrol yourself in their activities. During the meeting a speaker entertains us with an interesting topic, usually accompanied with slides
There is also a coffee morning on the 3rd Thursday of the month at the Scothern Garden Centre, for everyone that likes a good chat.
Not to be missed! Our September speakers Tim and Liz Delap will talk about their cycling tour of Romania.
