Rubber Ducky Day! Saturday 13 January 12.30 to 3.30pm

Dora the Duck wants to celebrate National Rubber Ducky Day! Come along and enjoy lots of ducky fun - make Rubber Ducky Wands, create pictures and learn how to make your own ‘Hook a Duck’ game at home!

Molly & Dora’s Easter Trail! Friday 30 March to Sunday 16 April

Molly the Mill Mouse from Cogglesford Watermill is visiting Navigation House’s Dora the Duck for Easter. Join in with their adventure and try your hand at their cunning Easter Trail. Visit the Mill and Navigation House to collect your trail sheet and don’t forget to claim your Easter prize!

Discovering the History of Sleaford, Sunday 24 June, Meet at Navigation House at 11am

Back by popular demand! Join local historian, Simon Pawley as he joins Navigation House to discover the evolution of Sleaford’s wharf area. Constructed in the early 1790s, Sleaford Navigation had a difficult beginning. Originally designed to run through the town to a wharf on its western side, the Navigation Company found itself running out of money and forced to end its project east of the town centre. How they dealt with this crisis would turn out to have a long-lasting influence on the future development of the town.

National Colouring Book Day, Sunday 5 August, 11am to 4pm

Navigation House has a fascinating history dating back over 150 years. To celebrate National Colouring Book Day we would like to create a book depicting the life of this historic building. There’ll be lots of pictures to colour in so why not spend some time colouring with your friends, children or grandchildren or just by yourself and contribute to our bumper sized book!

Heritage Open Days, Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 September

Explore your local history and heritage by taking part in our Heritage Open Days. Join a free fun family trail at each venue and see Cogglesford Watermill in action on Sunday.

With this FREE leaflet you can discover many points of interest about Sleaford’s historic riverside. From the origins of Sleaford Leisure Centre which was once an outdoor lido known as Bristol Baths to appreciating the imposing architecture of Lafford Terrace which was once the most impressive terrace of domestic housing in Sleaford.

With the easy to use map and directions and intriguing historical facts, this self-guided trail is the ideal way to experience the Sleaford of days gone by.

The trail will take approximately 1 hour, but don’t forget to take some time to explore the many charming places along the way including Cogglesford Watermill and Navigation House.

When in Sleaford... Arts & Heritage trail

The When in Sleaford... trail features artworks which take their inspiration from Sleaford's rich history. Eighteen bronze roundels, created by artist David Mackie, are sited on walls and in pathways in and around Sleaford, leading you to discover historic buildings, visitor attractions and existing artworks in the town.
