Boston Folk Club has provided a home for a wide range of acoustic-based music, both professional and amateur, in the town for more than four decades.
Formed back in 1966 during a great national resurgence of interest in Britain’s native songs and music, the club quickly established a ‘broad church’ approach, hosting a variety of performers.
As well as traditional and contemporary folk, such diverse styles as blues, country, Cajun, ragtime, skiffle, folk-rock, comedy songs and even a spot of poetry are all regularly welcomed at the club. Many of the top folk names from Britain and around the world have played at the club over the years, alongside numerous local singers and instrumentalists.
There is no formal membership and everyone, whether singers, musicians or audience, is welcome to come along to the monthly meetings.
