Tennyson Society Events 2017
Friday 12th to Monday 15th May:
Weekend conference at Ryde, Isle of Wight, including an extended visit to Farringford. See separate booking form for details.
Saturday 10th June:
Annual General Meeting and Annual Lecture, Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln. The Lecture on Tennyson and Edward Lear will be given by Dr Matthew Bevis of Keble College, Oxford.
Friday 9th June – Monday 12th June:
International Tennyson Conference at Bishop Grosseteste University on Books-Place-Space: Tennyson in the early 1860s, organised by Dr Sibylle Erle, Senior Lecturer at the University. See separate sheet for details.
Sunday 6th August:
Annual Memorial Service, 3 pm, at Bag Enderby Church. The speaker will be Dr. Claudia Capancioni of Bishop Grosseteste University.
Tuesday 22nd – Thursday 24th August:
BAVS Conference at Bishop Grosseteste University. The theme will be Victorians Unbound: Connections and Intersections. Keynote speakers will be Professor Sir Christopher Ricks, Kate Flint, Mike Huggins and Francesco Marroni. Please see their website for more details: https://bavs2017.co.uk/
Saturday 7th October:
Annual Wreathlaying Ceremony, 12 noon, in Poets’ Corner, Westminster Abbey, subject to the approval of the Dean, followed by lunch at a nearby restaurant.
